Organic, unfiltered Piedmont wines from the hills between Langhe and Monferrato.
Costigliole d'Asti, Piedmont, Italy
Marco Minnucci started his winemaking journey in Costigliole d'Asti in 2010, and by 2015 had opened Cascina San Michele with his partners — a farmhouse winery situated between two of Piedmont's most celebrated wine territories, the Langhe and the Monferrato. The location gives the estate access to an unusually broad palette of indigenous Piedmontese varieties: Barbera, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Brachetto, Bonarda, and Cortese all grow in the vineyards surrounding the farmhouse. Marco's wines are as vibrant and direct as his personality — honest, expressive, and completely unconcerned with convention.
Cascina San Michele is certified organic and built on a philosophy of deep minimalism. Fermentation relies entirely on native yeasts — nothing is added that could alter what the vineyard naturally gives. Sulfur levels are kept below half the legal limit. The wines are not filtered. What ends up in the bottle is a direct, unmediated expression of the fruit, the soil, and the vintage — wines that change year to year because the land changes year to year, and Marco wouldn't have it any other way.
Marco Minnucci is the founder and winemaker — a hands-on, deeply principled grower whose approach to wine is as much a lifestyle as a profession. He runs Cascina San Michele alongside a small team of partners who share his commitment to organic farming and minimal intervention winemaking.
