Boca is one of Alto Piemonte's most historic appellations — a small, rugged zone where Nebbiolo grows in volcanic, mineral-rich soils at elevation, producing wines with a completely different personality from the Barolos and Barbarescos of the Langhe. Cooler temperatures, rocky terrain, and the influence of the Alps give Barbaglia's wines their signature vibrant freshness and striking minerality. Alongside Nebbiolo, Silvia works with rare indigenous varieties native to Northern Piedmont — grapes most winemakers have never heard of, preserved here because the land demands them.
The winemaking approach honors that wild, challenging terroir: minimal intervention, careful attention to what the vineyard gives, and wines that reveal depth and complexity the more time you spend with them.
