Wendling vineyard is situated at the northern end of Anderson Valley, in what's colloquially referred to as the "deep end" of the valley. It is one of the "deepest" vineyards in terms of its close proximity to the Mendocino coastline - 9 miles as the crow flies to be exact. Wendling is truly one of the most picturesque vineyards in Anderson Valley, as it sits perched on a steep hillside, facing southwest towards the coastal mountains and Pacific Ocean.

This wine is a mix of four clones. Ten percent whole cluster fruit was included with the de-stemmed whole berries, in order to add a hint of spice and structure. The wine was fermented on the skins for two weeks, before being moved to 30% new and 70% seasoned French oak barrels. It then spent 17 months in these barrels prior to bottling.
