With this bottling, Goosecross winemaker Bill Nancarrow brought together four varietals into a sensuous, fruit-driven wine. Each component was made and aged separately before being masterfully blended into one of the most integrated and complex wines. The Petite Sirah provides plenty of bravado and power, the Malbec contributes blue fruit and black tea, while the Syrah chimes in with black pepper and hints of tobacco leaf.  Zinfandel  is added to lend a spicy lushness to the blend.

More about the wine

The two clones from the vineyard were picked and made as separate lots. Fruit was de-stemmed and then cold soaked at 45F for 5 days. Natural ferment started after 5 days so they warmed the tanks up and added PN specific yeast. Fermentation lasted another 5 days, before they pressed the wine off skins.
